Sea of Remnants System Requirements
The official Steam page lists minimum and recommended PC requirements for Sea of Remnants.
The game is still in development, so these specifications may be adjusted before release. Use the current requirements as planning guidance rather than a permanent final specification.
Minimum PC Requirements
- Operating system: Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit
- Processor: Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB or AMD Radeon RX 480 8 GB
- DirectX: Version 11
- Network: Broadband internet connection
- Storage: 60 GB available space
The minimum specification is intended to represent the lowest supported hardware level. It does not guarantee high settings, high frame rates, or a fixed resolution.
Recommended PC Requirements
- Operating system: Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit
- Processor: Intel Core i7-12700 or AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
- Memory: 32 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband internet connection
- Storage: 80 GB available space
The recommended specification should provide a more stable experience, but the publisher has not yet defined the exact resolution, graphics preset, or target frame rate associated with it.
How Much Storage Does Sea of Remnants Need?
The Steam listing currently requires:
- 60 GB for the minimum specification
- 80 GB for the recommended specification
The difference may account for higher-quality resources, installation overhead, updates, or future content. Keeping at least 100 GB free would provide additional room for patches and temporary installation files.
Do You Need an SSD?
The Steam page does not currently list an SSD as mandatory.
However, an SSD is recommended for a modern open-world game because it can reduce loading times and improve asset streaming. A mechanical hard drive may technically meet the storage requirement but provide a less consistent experience.
Can a GTX 1060 Run Sea of Remnants?
A GTX 1060 with 6 GB of VRAM is currently listed as the minimum NVIDIA graphics card.
That does not mean every GTX 1060 system will perform identically. CPU performance, cooling, RAM configuration, resolution, and graphics settings can all affect results.
Is 16 GB RAM Enough?
The minimum requirement is 16 GB.
The recommended requirement is 32 GB, suggesting that higher settings, background applications, or demanding areas may benefit from additional memory.
Does Sea of Remnants Support Ray Tracing?
The recommended specifications include a relatively powerful DirectX 12 graphics card, and the game has been promoted alongside advanced NVIDIA graphics technology. However, final ray-tracing settings and performance targets should be confirmed through official launch documentation.
Laptop Compatibility
Laptop GPU names do not always perform like their desktop equivalents.
Before comparing a laptop with the listed requirements, check:
- GPU power limit
- VRAM capacity
- CPU model
- Cooling performance
- Dual-channel memory
- Available SSD space
Requirements May Change
The listed specifications are pre-release requirements.
The developer may revise them after optimization, new tests, graphics updates, or changes to the final client. Check the Steam page again before downloading the launch version.
